Ottumwa Selected as One of 19 Worldwide Locations for U.S. Air Force A-10 Demonstration

--FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE--

Fly Ottumwa, to be held August 24-26 at the Ottumwa airport, has been selected to host the US Air Force A-10 Demo Flight Team. From thousands of applications, the Ottumwa airshow was one of just 19 worldwide sites selected this year for the A-10 demonstration and Heritage Flight.

The A-10 Thunderbolt II is one of the premiere close combat aircraft used by today’s Air Force. Affectionately called the Warthog, the plane is best known for its fearsome GAU-8 Avenger 30 mm Gatling gun mounted on the nose.

In addition to the military demonstration, Fly Ottumwa has expanded the airshow to include even more performances by the country’s best pilots and aerial acrobats.

The 3-day family friendly event will feature two full days of airshow performances as well as a Friday night concert and spectacular night airshow.
